Please help me in welcoming our newest sponsor to Vintage Indie, artist Julie Haymaker Thompson.
Julie brings years of involvement in the art world, from education in illustration to a love for arts and crafts of all kinds. She has been freelancing for 20 years. Prior to that she worked as a greeting card artist for Hallmark Cards for 9 years.
From her collection is her " gourde ghost" (pictured above). The head is made from a tiny real gourd and craft store finds. The hanging piece around his neck is a paper clay stamped charm . He is also adorned with vintage fabrics , gauze, lace and wire.
You can also find other enchanting pieces in her collection like this one (pictured above) called "Oh". Oh's "body is a wooden glass faced box with a vintage rhinestone broach and silver leafing inside. Her head is paper clay and her dangling legs are beads. The hat is wool felt. She is part of a continuing series of dolls that Julie is doing in this format.
Julie also has a passion to share with others her love of art. She's recently just launched workshop retreats at her home in Santa Fe.
We'll be back with more on these fabulous retreats next week.
In the meantime visit Julie Haymaker Thompson at her website.
