When you think of chemicals household cleaners and sprays often come to mind, but there are other cleaners and refreshers that we often overlook. One that comes to mind is carpet refreshers. I have a super easy carpet refresher for you that's inexpensive and can be customized to your liking. I love the smell of this when it is going down and while you're waiting for it to do its job it makes the house smell clean and fresh.

Essential Oils (I used lavender & sweet orange essential oil)
Baking Soda
To make: Fill your jar 2/3 of the way up with your baking soda. I used a 12oz jar. Next, drop in 3 drops of lavender essential oil, and 2 drops of *sweet orange essential oils. Place the lid on the jar and give it a good shake to mix up and distribute the essential oils completely.
To Use: Sprinkle a thin layer of natural carpet refresher on your rug or carpet and allow the baking soda to remove the odors for about 15-20 minutes. After your satisfied, sweep with a sweeper.
*Essential oils can stain, so try a small amount on your light colored rugs or carpets.
Enjoy re-freshened carpets without all the yuck!
