January Newsletter 08 - Archive

Dear Friends,
Happy New Year and thank you for joining me for another month on Vintage Indie. My goals for this year are really to encompass why I started Vintage Indie in the first place and to expand on the idea of living in a modern world with a vintage perspective.

Indie takes a huge priority in this concept because it defines creativity, a do it yourself attitude and keeping to our roots of handmade rather than massed produced. Vintage falls in line as a passion for things of the past  and a sense of joy when something old is made new again. It's also a form of "vintage green" a new way to look at recycling and doing our part for the environment.

This year I've also invited you to show and tell with us, your treasured collections, your secret hidden vintage stores, events and indie places you spend hours at. I've also opened the door for sharing your love of crafting by inviting you to submit your "do it yourself" craft tutorials with Vintage Indie readers. I hope you will continue being passionate about what you love this year and  visit Vintage Indie often so I can share my passions with you.

Vintage Indie September Newsletter

Dear Friends,

It has been an amazing and fun month at Vintage Indie. The Daily Swank has been filled with Fall Nesting ideas and preparing our homes for the colder seasons ahead. Many were from vintage finds on Etsy and stores who love the vintage as much as I do.

I was pleased to have our featured sponsor Precious Objects on board for the month of September. If you haven't been over to Wendy Humphry's Etsy shop you'll want to head over there for some gorgeous vintage jewels. Just in time for fall is my latest find from her shop.A Vintage Amber Glass and Citrene Necklace . I love the warm colors, perfect for the oranges and yellows of the season.

I can't help but feel extremely excited about the fall season and our Vintage Teacup Swap . We'll be filling our kitchens and our new vintage vessels with flavors of fall. The familiar scent of cinnamon, pumpkin, clove, apples and many other creative ideas I'm sure. Remember, you have until the 24th to sign up.

Lastly, I'd like to invite you to share your trips to your local farmers markets, antique shows and fall festivals this October. I'd love to see some reader submissions of how you and your family enjoy fall. Please email me, and introduce yourself as a VI reader.

Thank you for sharing your love of vintage with me every day on Vintage Indie. I appreciate your passions for old things and the thrill of seeing and sharing vintage found objects and indie created stores and goods.

Vintage Indie Newsletter Archive - August

Editor's Letter

Vintage Indie combines two things that I'm passionate about. Vintage and Independent design and business. After recently owning my own business and then becoming the Beautify Me column writer for Wickedly Chic, I thought it was time to write about what keeps me going. The first two months have taken off with quite a bang and I'm so excited to see the level of readership climbing every day.

I'm a momma of two boys and married to a wonderful husband. Life is good and we are living our journey day to day. My husband and I both love vintage and antiques and you'll find us browsing local flea markets and shows quite often, toting our two boys in the wagon.

I hope you'll stop by Vintage Indie often as I envision being the voice of vintage, vintage style and the world of indie. I love your emails, and submissions for the cool places you visit and the neat stuff you buy. Feel free to send them over to me at any time.

To those of you who may have received my first newsletter, I have to apologize. That newsletter was a very rough draft and the email program used to send those out to you skipped a step, and went directly out to you. Please delete that one and use this one as your reference. Thank you!
