Teach Me: Exercise with Fitness Blender

If you're wondering how to get some exercise into your home school day, why not check out Fitness Blender? Husband and wife team Daniel and Kelli have created Fitness Blender and offer all of their exercises for free.

You can go to their website and click on various requirements for the type of workout you would like to do. Choose from training type, body focus, difficulty, minutes and calorie burn to find the right workout for you. Everything is organized and easy to find. If you need a little more direction they do offer workout plans, but that's only if you choose to use their plans. They are also very inexpensive.  The videos offered in the workout plan are the same as what they offer for free, just organized into days, and specific workouts.

Today my kiddos and I did the 25 Minute Fun Workout for Kids. You can check it out below.

The folks over at Fitness Blender do not know me and I was not paid for this. Just thought you would like to know some free resources for getting you and your kids moving!

A New Vintage Hot Spot: Antiques Village in Dayton Ohio

Antiques Village

August 2013 001
Don't let the shopping center facade keep you from visiting Antiques Village. Newly opened this August, this antique and vintage-indie type mall is a great new hot spot to add to your usual stops.

August 2013 004
Each "shop" or booth is located on a street off of "Main St." We really liked the organization and personality found in each booth.

The displays like this kitchen booth were fabulous.

Antiques Village isn't at capacity and is still taking vendors. With the organization, friendliness of staff, I think it would be a great place for you to set up shop if you've been thinking about giving it a try.

Through the Lens: Jane Heller Photography

{ Through the Lens } { Independent Photography }

 { Inspired by Farm Life }

This summer we've had the privilege of visiting a friend who owns a lovely piece of property and lots of chickens and a beautiful garden. In our minds it is a lovely little getaway when we are invited and my children enjoy chasing the chickens and collecting eggs. I'm sure to them it is a lot of work and I know that it is. Keeping chickens, raising a family garden. There is much work to do. We respect our time there and the enjoyment we get out of it.

Today's Through the Lens feature speaks to the farm life in each one of us. Jane's gorgeous shots aren't to be missed.

The Daily Swank: What Provokes Your Childhood Memories?

Today's Daily Swank are some items that really made me remember my childhood. Both of my grandmothers and my great aunt were the inspiration behind today's finds.
Vintage perfume atomizer bottles from OldLittlePretties
I was happy to find this set. My great aunt used to have the rouge and powder box on her dresser. She used to let me "paint" her face and pretend we were in a beauty salon. I cherish those memories.
The above is a rare Coty vanity set from Vintageandantiques12
What about you? Do you have any vintage treasures in mind that provoke delightful childhood memories?
