Small Business Spotlight: Interview with Blogger Kimberly of Gravity Mom

 

Can you tell me a little bit about how you got started blogging?

I started blogging 4 years ago when my son turned 1 and I realized how quickly the first year went by and that I wanted to document it somehow. It became not only a resource for myself but quickly grew to be a resource for other Moms as well. Ever since I have been writing and capturing all the fun (and not so fun) parents of Motherhood over the years! I just launched Gravity Mom in January of 2014 and it has been like birthing a baby! I have been so excited to focus on a more common sense approach in every day parenting topics! 

What is Gravity Mom?

Gravity Mom is a very “down to earth” authentic blog where I write about real life Motherhood. It's not so much about how you can be the perfect parent, but more about coming together to realize that we can try and appreciate the joy in the chaos. It's about striving to be our best, not comparing ourselves to others and feeling confident that we are all Super Moms. 

What kinds of topics do you cover?

I love to do fun easy crafts that don't take a Master's Degree in graphic arts to complete. I love to share recipes that are kid approved and kid friendly in the kitchen. I write about the hard stressful moments in Motherhood like infertility, breast feeding, and what to do when you accidentally put a disposable diaper in your washing machine! I love to find really fun educational activities you can do at home with your kids and pinterest projects that are and are NOT worth your time. 

Who is your perfect reader?

My perfect reader is your every day, down to earth Mom who just wants to have fun with her kids and likes to do fun easy at home projects, crafts and delicious food.

Who or what inspires you?

My family. They remind me what it means to stay humble and authentic in everything I do. They keep my feet on the ground and support me in every new crazy adventure I take on! 

Do you have any exciting plans for Gravity Mom for the new year?

I have so many exciting plans for Gravity Mom this year! I am working with lots of local businesses to do more fun events for Moms locally (with and without kids!) along with some big giveaways, ebooks and family fun!
