Cincinnati Home School Friends: Julie Bogart, the founder of Brave Writer is speaking in Cincinnati this August! (You might know her as the "Poetry Teatime Lady.") August 25th, 9-4 WITH lunch!
My daughter and I recently attended one of her Poetry & Tea time events and had a blast. It was inspiration for our Poetry and Tea Time party the other day.
My daughter and I hosted our first #poetryteatime with friends and it was delightful. I was so proud of all the kids, some read from a book, some recited from memory, and some had their momma read for them. They were all just absolutely precious. I have a feeling this won't be our last. Thank you @juliebravewriter for hosting one so we could see just how easy and wonderful it is. . . . . . . #summer #summer2018 #poetry #tea #lemonade #scones #friends #juliebogart #bravewriter #poetrytime #morning #morningtea #homeschooling #homeschoolmom #memories #childhoodunplugged
Julie is a professional writer and when she was homeschooling her own 5 children she found that writing was a subject that was often poorly taught to children. She founded Brave Writer, a language arts program that meets children where they are and uses instinctive and creative ways to draw out the language arts which are already all around us.
She did all kinds of homeschooling over the years with her children, including Charlotte Mason who she has a soft spot for.
If you want to know more about Brave Writer you can check it out their website, bravewriter.com.
I love that much of what she does is straightforward (podcasts, Friday Freewrites,. etc) and that her heart is for community in the homeschooling world.
There are still spots open, but I'm sure they won't be for long. If you haven't heard Julie speak you're in for a treat. She's super uplifting in her talks and will make for a great launching point for your upcoming school year! Also, get to know her on Instagram @JulieBraveWriter, she's always posting live stories and is very easy to connect with.
